The vacancy

We are seeking a collaborative and bold Stage Manager on a Freelance basis for our upcoming production: Peter Pan - A BIG Musical Adventure

We are looking for someone who can help to deliver a high quality and inspiring production for our participants and audiences.

The role requires an excellent communicator with a proactive approach and at least 5 years of experience working in the professional theatre industry, with the following essential criteria.

Strong understanding of stagecraft (props, set, backstage etiquette)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
Exceptional timekeeping and reliability
Clear communication skills, both with creative teams and young people
A proactive, “can-do” attitude and ability to problem solve under pressure
Previous experience in a backstage or production role (professional level)
Experience working with children or young people

The company

Mayflower Theatre is the largest theatre on the South Coast with 2,271 seats in the auditorium. The Theatre’s aim is to bring a diverse range of shows to Southampton. We present a mixture of spectacular touring productions, from musicals to dance, opera, drama, ballet and comedy.
